Senior Ben Riecks, Vice President of the DECA organization, spent his lunch periods through Sep. 14 to the 15 at Rush Week attempting to get more members to join the business club.

DECA is a business club where members compete in regional and national competitions where they attempt to pitch their best ideas and problem solving techniques to impress judges.

Riecks got involved with the club in the same way many students have in the past years.

“Sophomore year during rush week I was looking for more clubs to join,” Riecks said. “I saw DECA and went to the first meeting and fell in love with it.”

Riecks has high hopes for how he sees the club to grow this year.

“This year I think that we want to surpass the member count of last year and take more and more people to state and national competitions and do a lot of fundraisers and everything like that,” Riecks said.
