The first Coffee House of the year happened on Saturday, February 10, 2018. It was a night filled with many different acts, such as a saxophone ensemble, magic tricks, and a cup song act. Many of the Coffee House performances were new, and made the night have more variety.

One of the performers was junior Caitlin Yang. She performed with junior Taylor Carmona at their first Coffee House together.

“We decided to perform because we both wanted to try something neither of us had done before but was still a little bit in our comfort zones,” Yang said. She played piano while Carmona sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical Les Miserables.

The two enjoyed performing together and plan on doing the next Coffee House.

“You will be able to catch us in the spring coffee house,” Yang said.

For many performers in  the Coffee House, sharing a love of performing and watching their friends was the best part of the night.

“I think one of my favorite parts was getting to share [our] music with everyone who came,” Yang said.

The next Coffee House will be held on April 20, 2018, and audition information will be coming out closer to the date.
