Rush Week, which took place at Hightstown High School on Sep. 14 and 15, gave students involved in clubs and organizations at Hightstown the opportunity to gain new members. One of these students was junior Julia Sigalos, who is a member of Writer’s Block.

The job of the Writer’s Block is to produce the school’s literary magazine.

“We accept submissions to it, and we can also submit ourselves,” Sigalos said. “We encourage different writing techniques and kind of be inspired by it.”

Writer’s Block is the perfect place for any person looking for a creative outlet in a relaxed environment.

“It’s just really chill,” Sigalos said. “Like, we don’t have a lot of requirements, because I know some clubs do that. But this is kind of like you can come, sit down, write, and just kind of express and let emotions out.”

According to Sigalos, the goal for the club this year is to grow and gain new members; she recommends that “anybody who just likes to have a pencil in their hand” join the club.
