Hightstown boys basketball was facing 9-0 Nottingham in a CVC match-up on January 16th, 2018. They went into to game with confidence and they knew they needed to hold them to low 60s. The Rams went on to win the game 66-63. Senior Jamal Anderson was ready to play lockdown defense which would help them win the game.

“We knew nobody believed that we could actually beat them besides ourselves. The main goal was to lock in on defense. Nottingham was averaging 80 plus points a game and we knew we would have a good chance of them winning if we kept them in the low 60s,” Anderson said.

The boys have been looking forward to this game for a long time. They knew it would be the biggest game of the season and that they could overcome Northstars.

“We knew from the start of the season the Nottingham would be the biggest game of the season. It made it even better since we ended their undefeated record,” Anderson said.

Hightstown is looking to be the star team in the CVC and to put a big run on the MCT trophy. They also look to go far in states and continue their great season.
